CREATE | CONNECT | CELEBRATE – A Documentary for MAC’s 40th Anniversary

In 2021, the Mississauga Arts Council (MAC) celebrated our milestone 40th Anniversary. We are commissioning a 40-minute documentary produced by Ron Duquette to celebrate MAC’s accomplishments and capture our story from the leaders and community members of MAC. This documentary will include interviews with Founding, Former and Current MAC Executive Directors; Laurie Pallett, Linda Thomas, and Mike Douglas, along with insights from notable artists, performers, MARTY Award winners, community leaders and more about the impact and benefit of the Mississauga Arts Council then and now.

Researcher/Writer ($2500-$3000)

MAC is seeking a researcher/writer of documentaries or nonfiction for a history of MAC documentary project. The researcher/writer will have 2 key responsibilities. First, to perform research and identify key personnel to interview, and research MAC’s archives for written documents and images. Second, to develop a first draft of the documentary script.

Videographer ($2500-$3000)

MAC is seeking a videographer to capture live interview footage, b-roll, and voice-over footage. The videographer will work closely with MAC and producer Ron Duquette. Shot lists will be created when revising the first draft of the documentary script.

Video Editor ($3000-$4000)

MAC is seeking a video editor to edit and assemble recorded material into a 40-minute documentary video. Working closely with MAC and documentary producer Ron Duquette, you will follow the script and shot list to assemble the footage and perform requested edits to produce the final documentary video.

Arts for Mental Health Conference – Video Editor ($4500)

Mississauga Arts Council (MAC) and Mass Culture/ Mobilisation culturelle (MC) brought together health practitioners, academics, artists, politicians, and leaders in the arts sector at the first Arts for Mental Health Conference in Canada on October 6, 2021. MAC is seeking a video editor to produce multiple video segments from the 4 hour ZOOM recording. Working closely with MAC, the video editor will add lower thirds, cut long pauses, add title cards and logos/graphics, and enhance sound and polish as needed.

Arts for Mental Health Doctor’s Dinner – Video Editor ($2000)

Mississauga Arts Council (MAC) and Mass Culture/ Mobilisation Culturelle (MC) brought together leading health care practitioners to discuss the possibility of a social prescription pilot program in Peel Region in advance of our Arts for Mental Health Conference on October 6, 2021. Working closely with MAC, the video editor will add lower thirds, cut pauses, and add title cards and logos/graphics as needed.
