Poet and visual artist Manahil Bandukwala used her 2022 Matchmaker MicroGrant to publish Women Wide Awake, a collection of folktales, poems, and sculptures exploring the stories of seven women from the Sindh region of Pakistan. The book is part of Manahil and her sister Nimra’s Reth aur Reghistan project, a joint research and art exploration that aims to shed light and provide context on South Asian folktales in an effort to keep these stories alive and analyze the threads that connect folklore from generation to generation.
