The Sauga En Plein Air Painting Group, led by Leo Dias, used their SNAP! funding to bring the City of Mississauga’s Garden Day 2024 to life with live painting and demonstrations from 6 local artists. The event, held on June 22 at Iggy Kaneff Park near Hancock Woodlands, celebrated community, gardening, and the beauty of Mississauga’s landscapes.
Also in attendance was Visual Arts Mississauga, providing supplies to the Sauga En Plein Air Group, alongside educational displays and guided park tours led by the City’s Forestry team.
Artists included Leo Dias, Suyi Hawkins, Shelly Foster, Ann Y Tin, Michelle Chen, and Nisreen Askar.
Sauga Neighbourhood Arts Program (SNAP!) is an initiative of the Mississauga Arts Council that brings artists and communities together to celebrate Mississauga.
