Groove for the Arts at Mississauga Arts Council’s 2024 MACsquerade Disco Inferno! Arts Fundraiser! – Talent Announced! 🕺 💃

Mississauga Arts Council (MAC) is pleased to announce that tickets are now on sale for the MACsquerade Disco Inferno! Arts Fundraiser on November 28, 2024, at LéTreport Wedding & Convention Centre

All are welcome to join Mayor Carolyn Parrish and distinguished business and political leaders for this unforgettable celebration in support of the arts. Hon. Nina Tangri, Associate Minister of Small Business | MPP Mississauga-Streetsville will be joining the event to bring greetings from the Province and Hon. Michael Tibollo, Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions | MPP Vaughan-Woodbridge will be presenting the Arts for Mental Health Award to exceptional community leader, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and Founder of V Serve Canada, Anu Srivastava. Hosted by Amin Dhillon, this exciting disco-themed night will feature live energetic performances from award-winning singer/songwriter, Suzie McNeil & The Chain Reaction (who recently came back from performing with Aerosmith in Las Vegas), Tom Barlow (Juno Nominated Rock Singer), KHAY (Jazz Vocalist), and Nicole Faye (R&B Vocalist) all performing classic disco hits from the 1970s for attendees to groove to! Darryn de Souza (Accomplished Pianist & Vocalist) will entertain guests during our red carpet & champagne reception and India Brown (MAC’s 2024 Next Gen Singing Contest Winner) will perform the National Anthem.

“Join us for this special groovy evening in support of the arts,” invites Mike Douglas, MAC’s Executive Director, “By purchasing a ticket, you’re not only ensuring a memorable experience filled with disco dancing, entertaining performances from local artists, and unique silent and live auction items but you’re also helping fund vital programming for local artists. Including our impactful arts for mental health program ArtsCare, and Sauga Neighbourhood Arts Program (SNAP) – a co-funding initiative that provides financial support to community-led arts programs. The MACsquerade Disco Inferno! kicks off at 6:00 PM at LéTreport Wedding & Convention Centre with a red-carpet photo booth and champagne reception, followed at 7:00 PM with a delicious gourmet four-course dinner, an open bar, the Arts for Mental Health Award presentation, exciting live & silent auctions in support of Mississauga’s vibrant arts community, far-out musical performances, and lots of dancing!

Performer Bios

Suzie McNeil & The Chain Reaction – Suzie McNeil is a Juno award-winning Canadian pop-rock singer and songwriter. Throughout the years she has compiled an impressive record of musical accomplishments. These have ranged from live shows beside some of North America’s top artists (Steven Tyler, Alan Frew, Jeff Healey, Dave Navarro, P!nk, INXS, Scott Weiland, Gavin Rossdale), to consummate professionalism tracking in the studio, to commercial jingles, to performing in front of crowds of up to 200,000 people. Tom Barlow is a Canadian singer/songwriter who has been nominated for 4 Juno Awards. His new single “Don’t Call It Love” has just been released. The new Barlow album Cruel World will be released this fall. Barlow has garnered 3 top-ten singles and numerous awards. His song Perfect Wave has over 1 million streams on Spotify. KHAY is a poised and passionate vocalist, performer and songwriter. “Powerhouse performer” and “soul-stirring artist’, are a few of the terms critics have used to describe KHAY. She heads a sophisticated musical trio whose sole mission is to elevate special events by adding exceptional live music. Nicole Faye is a talent with an impressive range of abilities, including singing, acting, dancing, and production. Dividing her time between the studio and stage, Nicole is a MARTY Award nominee, appearing with various live ensembles in the Greater Toronto Area, She has recorded background and featured vocals for several Toronto and International artists. Darryn de Souza is a pianist and vocalist. He has shared the stage with legendary artists like Paul Anka, Celine Dion, David Foster, Michael Bolton, Peter Cetera and Stevie Wonder, and performed for figures such as Barack Obama and Queen Elizabeth II. Beyond the stage, Darryn has brought vocal and theatre programs to multiple projects around Ontario, nurturing talent and creativity through music education. India Brown is a Mississauga-born multi-form creative writer and performing artist specializing in spoken word poetry, short stories, and song covers. She’s the 1st place winner of the 2024 Next Gen: Singing Contest presented by the Mississauga Arts Council, the 2nd place winner of the 2024 Toronto Poetry Slam, the 3rd place winner of the 2024 Hart House Literary Contest, and has short stories published in multiple university magazines.
