Martys HUB Reporter Jam: Connecting the arts to audiences and audiences to the arts

Mississauga Arts Council (MAC) has 10 paid positions for artists to create video content bites and social media posts for MartysHUB.com.
What is involved?
HUB Reporters are required to attend our HUB Reporter Workshop on Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 10am-12pm at Lakeview Discovery Centre (985 Hydro Rd, Mississauga, ON L5E 0A8).
Developing their story plan at the HUB Reporter Workshop, with support from MAC and colleagues, successful participants can plan their content and timeline in concert with Martys HUB, other HUB Reporters, and their own special interests.
HUB Reporters will be required to create:
- A minimum of three (3) engaging pieces of video content for Martys HUB. In addition to your videos, you may want create written or photo content to support your video post.
- A minimum of 2-3 social media posts per video to accompany/advertise the content.
HUB Reporters will have access to up to two (2) 30-minute mentorship sessions. These are in-person or virtual and will be free one-on-one lessons on self-identified areas of growth for the reporter. MAC will provide a list of mentors.
Who can apply?
Artists who live or work in Mississauga are invited to apply for Martys HUB Reporter Jam. Artists from any artistic discipline who are active on social media are encouraged to apply. The application will include samples of your existing social media posts, and a 30 second video of why you want to participate.
What is the Artist Fee?
MAC will pay each of the ten (10) selected participants a $500 honorarium for their content production and participation in Martys HUB Reporter Jam.
What is the benefit?
MAC will provide video equipment and assistance with videography and video editing as needed to create the required content.
MAC will also provide:
- Martys HUB stats on the HUB Reporter posts
- Social media stats on the HUB Reporter posts
- Martys HUB platforms for content dissemination – total social audience of 660+, total monthly website views of 3100+
- Cross promotion on MAC’s Social media channels (23,000+ reach)
MAC will provide HUB Reporters with:

- Martys HUB stats on the HUB Reporter posts
- Social media stats on the HUB Reporter posts and/or takeovers
- Opportunities to learn from Mentors across disciplines and expertise
- Martys HUB platforms for content dissemination – total social audience of 660+, total monthly website views of 3100+
- Cross promotion on MAC’s Social media channels

July 18 – October 1, 2022 – Content completed and submitted to MAC
