Project: One Night in Tennessee: Southern Ontario Tour
Country-pop singer-songwriter Jade Hilton used her Matchmaker MicroGrant to support her One Night in Tennessee tour across Southern Ontario and Quebec in Fall 2024. The tour consisted of four sold-out shows in Toronto (The El Mocambo), Kingston (The Grad Club), Montreal (Casa Del Popolo), and Ottawa (The Rainbow Bistro), drawing a combined audience of over 500 people.
With a MicroGrant, Jade supported provided paid opportunities for nine artists, including musicians, a photographer, a videographer, a sound engineer, and a graphic designer. This experience also allowed her to develop skills in tour planning, marketing, live band direction, and the business side of her career.
“It was amazing to see how this tour could connect so many people. I shared this tour with two amazing folk bands from Ottawa and Montreal, who I met at the North by Northeast Music Festival. I gained many new fans in different cities and I met so many amazing people on this tour. We really are so connected by art! I know this is something I want to continue doing throughout my musical journey. Human connection through music really is so beautiful!”
