*Note: This is a volunteer position. MAC’s Board of Directors cannot receive remuneration for their work with the board, or for any services provided to MAC for other projects (including but not limited to: MicroGrants, commissions/performances, and professional services)
^All Board members are required to purchase a MAC membership and maintain their membership throughout their term as a MAC Board Member.

About the Position:
Are you passionate about the Arts? Do you live or work in Mississauga and want to become more involved in the growth of the Arts Sector in Mississauga? MAC is seeking a volunteer to join our Board of Directors as Treasurer for a two-year term (renewable).
Board Members should be willing to commit a minimum of six (6) hours per month to the position. The role of Treasurer also involves additional finance committee meetings and duties as signatory. The anticipated time commitment per month is 6-12 hours per month.
Board Members are responsible for:
- Monitoring the strategic direction and fiscal accountability of the organization.
- Building the board’s reputation and moving the organization forward by demonstrating the principles of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in all interactions.
- Participating in monthly board meetings of 90 to 120 minutes.
- Participating on sub-committees as may be needed from time-to-time.
- Serving a minimum of one (1) two-year term, to a maximum of five (5) two-year terms.
As a Treasurer, you will also :
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Bookkeeper to ensure accountability and transparency in financial operations.
- Serve as a member of the Board’s Executive Committee and lead the Finance Committee and support the Board’s strategic decision-making regarding resource allocation.
- Oversee the financial health of MAC and guide budgeting, financial planning, and reporting, working closely with our bookkeeper.
Role Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in accounting with expertise in budgeting, financial reporting and financial analysis
- MAC board members must live or work in Mississauga
- Preference will be given to CPA’s with experience working or volunteering with nonprofit organizations
